GFM - Radial forging principle

<  >

GFM forging machines are based on the radial forging principle. Four excenter shafts are driven via a synchronisation gearbox. Rotation of these shafts is transformed into a ram translation movement. The exact transformation depends on the machine type. The four forging tools are mechanically connected to the rams and enable radial machining of the forged work piece. The forming energy required is generated by the kinematic energy of revolving weights (oscillating weight) in the system.

This forming technology is used in the manufacture of rods, staged shafts and hollow work pieces.
